	Hey guys, I know you haven't heard from me for a while, sorry about that---this semester has been slightly hellish. Anyways, just wanted to ask you guys to keep me and a group of about 20 other students in your prayers as we head out to China tomorrow morning at about 5:30 AM. We'll be there for about 2 and a half weeks. When I get back, I'll put up some pictures for yinz, if you'd like. Thanks so much. Cait

	Hey guys, I just want to thank you to all of you who prayed for me and offered me support. I passed my polygraph and my preinterview and the lady interviewing me and checking over my background said that I had all the making to be a great officer and she could see it in me already. So I guess that's good news. I don't know how many of you will be called in order to check up on my background but just try to be nice to these people...I want to work with them and have them pay me 80K a year tops. 	Good thing I read that AFTER I came back Spanky. Everything went well...hopefully nothing comes back in my physical make up or psychological. I have an issue that I need to work out but I'm so bloody tired right now I'm working it out tomm. The thing I was most scared of, the stress test, was not as bad as I thought it was. I truly and deeply want to thank each and every one of you gentlemen who prayed for me. This is why I have great friends like you that I still keep in contact. Again, please except my sincerest thanks and love from a humble admirer of you all. I'm going to bed! X

	Well I need to go back to have my eyes checked...they were pretty bad...however I think it was because it was so early in the morning or something. So I'm on hold right now and if worse comes to worse I will have to get lasic surgery and go to the academy in July. So, I'm sorry to ask, but keep those prayers up. X

	Well I got moved in down here and got my dsl modem working so I figured I would fire up the old pc. First time I have ever seen sparks shoot out the back of a computer. I know for a fact that the power supply is toast but not sure on anything else, pray for mojo(my computer is named mojo...)! I ordered a new power supply which should get here wednesday/thursday. On a side note, I hope Robert is doing well.

	Well guys...I got some bad news in the mail today. I didn't end up getting into Columbus, OH. I thank you all for praying and keeping up with me on this ordeal. However, now, I feel like a lot of my hope is gone. Since I was banking on that job for this round, I missed out on a lot of opportunities to get into other places. I'm thinking of getting some sort of factory job or something and just shelving my dreams for now. I just don't know what to do right now...so pray please. I'm sorry I let you all down, you're not the only ones...trust me. X

	Don't be too harsh on yourself, Stewie. When I was looking for work last spring, I had more than my fair share of letdowns. I had a couple of leads I was really interested in and had two or three near-perfect interviews for, but still didn't get the offer. God will put you where He wants you when He is ready. 	Yeah pat, don't be so hard on yourself. Confidence and attitude goes a very long way in an interview. If it makes you feel better, I had a total of 18 in person interviews, 63 phone interviews, and God knows how many email replies all from emailing/mailing my resume out 350+ times. The things you can learn from cleaning out your old hard drive... And in all of those interviews there were only 2-3 jobs which I would have really wanted. But if you pay me I will do anything (see penguin). But in the end the company I work for now saw my resume on monster and just decided to give me a call out of all the other people on there. So don't quit, unless it's smoking, then quit...and be addicted to the patches like me!

	My best friend Steve's buddy Kenny passed away unexpectedly yesterday morning. They have been close friends since middle school and Steve is having a very hard time with it. Kenny was 26 years old and got married less than a year ago. His wife Kathrina is 22 and they have a 6 month old son named Kaden. He was an amazingly warm man who had a gift for walking up to complete strangers and making them feel like they had known him for years. He led many people towards Christ, including Steve. Prayers would definitely be appreciated for his family and friends. Thanks you guys.

	Mere and I have a prayer request of our own that we'd like to throw out there. Since we'll be living in TR for at least a couple more years, we've decided to buy a house and start building some equity. This will help us buy a much nicer house when we start looking for our "career" jobs in a couple years. We've found one particular house that we are very fond of. It is listed at an incredibly low price, and we can easily do all the work to it that needs to be done without enslaving ourselves to the house. That will help us build equity and make the house "our own." The house is a bank foreclosure and they're in a hurry to get it off their hands. It originally hit the market at $90,000 and has fallen all the way to $59,900. We're going to offer $55,000 and ask the seller to help us with the closing costs. That will help us put more money on the down payment, lowering our monthly payment and building instant equity. If at all possible, please pray that the house won't sell out from under us and that the seller will accept our bid and help with closing costs. I can't tell you how much Meredith and I appreciate your prayers! -b0b (...is excited!)

	For what it's worth, I now have 4,000' of Category 5e cable and 125 RJ45 jacks ready to be run in whichever house we get. That, combined with two Cisco enterprise-class wireless access points, should pretty much cover my networking needs! LAN party, anyone? -b0b (...might be a bit obsessed.)

	Update! Meredith and I submitted our bid this morning. Apparently, someone else also made a bid today. Since both went in at the same time, the bank will probably reject both of them and ask us to submit our "best offer." 	Updated update! We still don't know if we have the house yet or not. We had to make two counter-offers yesterday, but they're still pretty reasonably priced. We will probably find out sometime today if we won the bidding process or not. Please continue to pray for us. So if you could pray for me throughout the day, especially around 2:30 and if you want specific things to pray for...ask that they be smitten by me, think I'm the best qualified, and not turned off by any of my drawbacks. 	On a side note, Meredith and I are still in a "holding pattern" with regard to the house. Apparently, the bank that owns the house could take up to a week to make a decision on our bid. I guess we're still in "first place", but it isn't a guarantee until they actually accept the bid. 	So I got a call today and they want me to come in for a second interview. I have a buddy who works there right now and he says they want to hire me but I must first meet with the guy's big boss just to get a feel for me, before the guy who I interviewed with before, and who is really in charge of the hiring, gives me the OK. 	Well folks with God's help and your prayers and a bunch of other people pulling from me...later today I will be hearing that I am being hired. 	Well ladies and gentlemen, Today is my first official day of work. Although technically, Wed, Thur, Fri are really orientation days...I still get paid nonetheless. I'd like to thank not only God who is really The Only One who made it possible...but I'd like to thank you, my friends, for sticking it out with me these last two years. I am very grateful that whenever I asked for prayer, you were right there ready, willing, able, and encouraging. This is what the Body Of Christ is suppose to be and even though we might not get to see each other every day...I am honored that we've remained close these past 6 +/- after high school. I just want each and everyone on here to know, that you can really touch a guy's heart with your love and all "Wes' mom" jokes aside...it's good to know that I can count on some awesome people to be there for me through thick and thin. 	Well I finished my first full real week of work the other day. So far, I've had to rub shoulders with sponsors (this time it was bankers...even they can be not so smart...did you know?) and then I had to work employee entrance monitor and shipping and receiving and new hires/interviews. I've been told I picked up pretty quick on it so far. The hardest part of the job so far, other than knowing who to call when the plan deviates...is staving off the boredom, I think I'm going to finish a few books in my time. Next week I'm working Gate 1 which is kinda the Command And Control of the security force. Here I'll be greeting sponsors (people who come in to pay us to do their tests...that means I get to play extra nice or it's curtains for me), be in charge of our emergency dispatch, and a few other important things here and there. Basically, once I learn this post, the other two I have yet to learn won't be too bad. Right now we work 12 hour shifts but that will change in a few weeks when it'll be a rotating 8 hour shift but I think I'll be mostly working 3rd shift for now...seeing as no one really likes that one. I'll need to find an AM radio somewhere to listen to my favorite AM late night radio show...and hopefully be able to pick it up. Other than that, there's not much new to tell. I've met some cool people, some really good looking women, and I'm making some great money for the easiest job at the company. Ooo so far I've seen one monkey...but so far I've not had to deal with anything causing the zombiefication of the company personnel. X (Question/comments?)

	Hey guys, I've got a really important prayer request tonight. My mother has been in hospitalized since Friday evening, and the situation looks pretty bleak. She fell into a coma Friday night while home alone, and hasn't responded since. Preliminary tests show the presence of meningitis, but a conclusive result hasn't yet been determined. I've been researching the condition over the past couple of days, and it appears that it has a high rate of mortality amongst even healthy patients. My mother, unfortunately, is anything but healthy. Please, pray for her health, and that of my stepfather who has been by her side nearly 24/7. I can't imagine life without her. -b0b

	Just to heap on the depression, I've got another major prayer request for you guys. I just found out that my mother's brother and closest friend, Jim Delbridge, was killed last night in a motorcycle accident. We had been trying to get in touch with him all last night to let him know about Mom, and found out at Midnight that he'd been in an accident. My Uncle Jim was an incredible guy. 	I'd like to submit a prayer request. I've recently been looking into getting a job in the field of private investigation as a second job (second for right now...with possibility for full time gig). I've recently been contacted by a company that is fairly new. So new in fact that I wouldn't make a standard salary and I would have to find my own client base. That would mean after working an 8 hour 3rd shift, I would sacrifice some sleep and energy to this job. I've been offered to come in and meet with the head of the company but he said I could mull it around for a bit before even meeting with him. I, of course, jumped at the chance to bring it to God and I would just ask that you ask God that if this is something He wants me to put my time and energy into, to let me know...one way or the other. I'm definitely on the fence as of right now and I know this is a perfect situation for God to work in my life. Thanks, X

	So I had my interview today for the Radisson. I gave myself a B- on the whole deal, of course I hate interviews. I was told they were creating a pool and there were no open positions and I wasn't given any indication if I was to be even in that pool. I go to sleep and wake up a couple hours later to my phone ringing and the Security manager offering to get me into orientation/training to at least start part time! Heck ya! Thanks to all of you who helped and prayed. This was definitely God's doing and not my crappy actions. Thanks again! X (Still finds tax forms confusing)

Lisa Holderman passed away October 2 at her home. Lisa leaves behinds her four children; Lucas, Lance, Lonnie, and Jasalin Holderman. The family is receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 6 at Hohner Funeral home. Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, October 8 at 11:00 at Hohner Funeral home. We will be sending flowers on behalf of the Class of 2002 and Jessica Romig, Suzy Sampson, and Briana Kleidon are working on a plan for those that would like to donate towards a memorial contribution for her children. 	I worked closely with a few guys at KDPS several years ago. The ticketing software they use is the one we developed here in Kalamazoo, called eTicket. I'm not with them any longer but the software is booming in law enforcement. While I was there we were landing some huge departments. Miami Dade being the largest in the country. If you've gotten a ticket from any MSP officers or any department in southern Michigan, the ticket you got was created by yours truely. I even got a ticket from it! Sucks when your own software stabs you in the back. Anyway, tangent aside, maybe this information will be of some help to you. Good luck with the interview! My experience with law enforcement is that some of those guys are pretty laid back and curse up a storm. The dispatchers... speak code over the radio. You probably already know but, they spend most of their time checking to make sure the officers are ok. If the officer doesn't respond, something is wrong. They stay very cool over the radio as well. You would be a great fit, IMO.
