Awesome, glad to hear it's working for you.  I run it pretty much 24/7 on a handful of machines.  The only issue I ran into was loss of connectivity to my internal DNS server (which is intentional).  I got around that by updating the localhost file to point manually at the internal IPs I needed to resolve.

Marc Laidlaw, former lead writer for Valve, released a "fanfic" today that appears to be the core plot of Half-Life 2: Episode 3.  It is most definitely worth checking out.

Have you guys watched the new Star Trek?

My thoughts are:

It's good but odd.  I came into it knowing ziltch.  I didn't even know it was starting until I happen to catch something online about it.  So the first two episodes show an interesting take with the Klingons but what it does with the main character, which I would argue there really shouldn't be one, is set it up for an odd story line.  It reminded me a bit of Rogue One.

For taking place slightly before TOS, the technology is a lot different.  That might be a trade off with making things futuristic and also not making them 1960s futuristic.  I also don't know how they got funding to have it cost $6 million per episode.  And the former show runner who quit had an interesting idea of having each season be set in different iterations of the different shows which would have been interesting.

So I'll give it a wirl for now.

I haven't watched it yet, but it is on my list, along with the Trek show by Seth MacFarlane.  I want them both to be great, but I'm a bit pessimistic at this point.

(...also, what's up with the lack of advertising for these shows?)

I hate to say this because I'm not a big Seth MacFarlane fan...but The Orville is a great show.  It's sometimes more Star Trek than Star Trek is Star Trek....Star Trek.

I would suggest give it to episode 3 as it was my favorite.

If you haven't read the series it is really, really good and a quick read too.

I've never DMed before but if we ever wanted to do a Fallout campaign I would love to craft a story!

If you're looking for a similar post-apocalyptic flair (with a bit of magic and an old west flair), check out Deadlands.  The Wasted West series of RPGs was a personal favorite back in the day.

That said, I'd love to dive into the Fallout world!

There's a series called Deathlands that I read/listen to.  Just pulling from their storylines would give us enough content.  I think they have something like 120 books in the series.  And there's a spinoff series with half that.

I might have to check those out.  I'm just finishing up the "Lies of Locke Lamora" series (definitely recommended!) and I'm looking for my next series.
