On the brink of exhaustion, the party made a new friend in the form of the lich Renwick Caradoon.  Renwick keeps to himself in an isolated area of the monastery, where he has seemingly holed up for countless decades in pursuit of unknown magical research.  An incredibly powerful entity, Renwick has largely ignored the priests that refurbished the rest of the monastery several years ago.  Although they've apparently tried to recruit him in the past, they're smart enough to leave him a wide berth.  Although Renwick didn't seem to be terribly fond of visitors, he was kind enough to give the party permission to use his dilapidated bedroom to rest and recover.

Now fully rested, the party continued their mission to wipe out every last priest in the monastery.  After leaving Renwick's domain, the party first visited the distillery.  With promises of a glorious party that would occur later that evening, a disguised Hytton persuaded the two priests located therein to hand over a "special reserve" of particularly strong brandy they'd been saving for a special occasion.  The group then made their way across the monastery, finding several empty dormitories full of austere-looking bunks.

Feeling rather cocky at their good fortune, the party continued bumbling through the monastery until they happened upon a very unhappy group of priests in the dining hall.  The group fought valiantly, using the hallway as a natural bottleneck to slow their attackers' progress.  Roughly half of the attackers split off and disappeared through a back entrance, leaving the remaining half to get cut down by the party.  We pick up during a brief lull in the battle, with the party having just caught sight of the rear echelon moving their way.
