Based on a quick poll at Briney's birthday LAN, it sounds like Saturday, January 4th is the best option for everyone.  We'll have a shiny new HTPC up and running (thread coming soon) to provide an extra gaming PC for anyone that doesn't own a rig.  We'll also have some board game goodness going on if we can find some space for it.

What games do you guys want to play?  Anyone up for some Earth 2150 goodness?  I can even try to get FatMan connected remotely if he's available.

I'll create a VPN account and send you the software tomorrow-ish.  Haven't heard from anyone else, but I'm voting for:

  • Earth 2150
  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2
  • Team Fortress 2
  • Left 4 Dead 2


Here are some ideas for games we haven't tried in the past.  Not sure what everybody has.  I'd love to try out a couple new games, and I'm up for anything.  Suggestions?

  • Borderlands 2
  • Unreal Tournament 3
  • Monday Night Combat
  • Awesomenauts
  • Torchlight 2

I haven't played Borderlands 2 yet but I'd be up for that...L4D2 would be fun and some E2150 is always a good throwback

Don't forget to bring all the spare hard drive space you can muster!  I'm transferring over the latest batch of movies and I'm downloading another batch now.

I haven't uploaded a list yet, but I also have a bunch of TV shows available for download.  Doctor Who seasons 1-7 (starting with 2005) are all available, including the specials.  South Park seasons 1-17 are on the FTP server, as well as FarScape, Spaced, Gangland, Whose Line Is It Anyway, and a bunch of other stuff.  Everything is in the highest resolution I could find, which is generally 720p or 1080p.

Nice!  I've had a hankering for the old Doctor Who's from the 70s.  I used to watch those as a kid when they were on Nick at Nite.

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for coming out this weekend despite the impending snowpocalypse (except Spanky, you suck).  I had a blast!

We definitely need to have a summer LAN party this year.  I'll work on getting a couple gigabit switches and hopefully I'll have some more disks attached to the SAN to speed up file transfers.  I totally zoned on downloading the old Doctor Who episodes from Stewie, but I'll definitely rectify that ASAP!
