Yeah you still Ski, in fact you spend the entire match skiing if you don't suck.

For a F2P shooter its really pretty good, and fun.  Will keep you entertained for hours at the very least.

It looks like Bethesda is publishing an interesting-looking game that isn't based on Elder Scrolls or Fallout.  Dishonored appears to be a sneak-and-kill type of game in a very similar vein to Assassin's Creed, albeit with magical elements, bullet time, and a heavy steampunk theme.

What do you guys think?

Quote:
Elder Scrolls going online with MMO planned for 2013
by Kyle Orland

Tired of wandering around the world of Skyrim killing dragons and filling houses with cabbage all by yourself? You won't have to stay lonely for long, as Zenimax Media has announced The Elder Scrolls Online, which will take the franchise in a massively multiplayer direction for the first time, starting in 2013.

If I had to describe this in two words, it'd be "bad idea."  One of the best elements about the Elder Scrolls games is that it's an incredibly immersive single-player world that does an excellent job of drawing you in as a player (unless you're Stewie).  I fail to see how this could be properly executed as an MMO.

Cyan and their successors tried to do the same thing with the Myst series, another type of game that didn't lend itself to a massively multiplayer world at all.  That games was anything but a resounding success.

MMO's are cash cows.  You will have a hard time convincing Zenimax this is a bad idea with a name brand as big as The Elder Scrolls.

Oh, there's no doubt about it.  As long as they don't hemorrhage cash in production, this game will probably break even for them in a matter of months.  It's an incredibly intelligent business decision, I just have doubts about it resulting in a game I would personally want to play.

I hear you, I said the same thing about World of Warcraft, I was so mad they were going to ruin my favorite RTS game.

As you know, I was I wrong =p

Have you guys pre-ordered Diablo III?  I've got everything downloaded and ready to install.  Only fourteen more hours!

Some people are having a hard time owning the game but forced to wait for hard copy deliveries. I really want to play but my time for gaming has diminished so much.

The game launcher now works and you can get into the game menu, but the servers won't be up until 12:00am PDT, or 3:00am normal-people-time.  Sux0r!

I had a chance to play Diablo 3 for about an hour before work this morning.  I'm chomping at the bit to get back to it tonight!  As expected, the game seems to be incredibly polished, and it's the good ol' Diablo hack-and-slash sweetness that we've all come to know and love.

I started off with a male wizard and I'm going to focus on a nuke build.  It looks like there are a ton of excellent nuke abilities at higher levels.

Aside from the fact that Battle.net, and Blizzard have done another shitty job at launching a title, the game is amazing.  I've been playing all morning.

I've also been disconnected 4 times, and am currently unable to log back in.  My friend Josh has not been able to log in at all since last midnight.  And Justin's account is not receiving credit for any achievements.

It amazes me how with ALL of their resources, Blizzard continuously has the absolute worst launches for its games.

I just came here to complain about the same thing.  I tried playing on my lunch break, but the game was in the middle of a two-hour service outage.  I managed to get in this afternoon at about 4:45pm and I played for a whopping 30 minutes before the servers went down again, this time for a (scheduled) 75 minute outage.

I understand that incredibly popular games will often have intermittent issues on launch day, but this game has been out for fifteen hours and it's been unplayable for a good portion of that window.  It's not just overcrowding, but apparently some sort of systemic issue that is requiring patching from Blizzard.

This is particularly egregious because I'm playing a single player game.  I could understand if I was playing a multiplayer game or if I gave a damn about achievements, but I'm just trying to complete a casual single-player run through the game.  It's made worse by the fact Diablo 3 has been in development for eleven years, the last two of which have been dedicated to "polish".  Moreover, Blizzard runs the single largest MMO in existence, so you'd think they'd have this whole network management thing figured out.

Boy, all my single player campaigns don't need to connect to a server to play.  That sounds pretty retarded.

Hopefully this encourages companies to dispense with the "always connected" anti-piracy BS.

But it won't.
