The 3DO is on my list, but it will be awhile before I pick one up.  There aren't any 3DO games I'm dying to play, and I've never touched a 3DO system before so I don't have much sentimental attachment to it.

Worse yet, the system is rather expensive on the second-hand market.  Games are hard to find, and a complete core system is around $200 on eBay.  Even then, only a small selection is available for my perusal.

The system was way, way, waaaaay too expensive, and that killed it before it really even had a chance.  It cost $699 at launch, and that's in 1993 dollars!  The PS3 got flogged for having a $599 price tag, and that was 13 years later!

Moreover, the game selection kinda sucked on the 3DO.  I honestly can't think of a single RPG that was released for the 3DO, and that should have been one of the biggest pushes on the first major CD-based system.

I downloaded the Too Human demo from Xbox Live today and I have to say.

That game is going to kick some serious ass.  I recomend everyone download if you got the equipment.

Yeah, but... it was made in Canada!

Honestly, I've not been keeping up with that game.  I'm downloading the HD trailer as we speak...

Dude Too Human is what I imagine the outcome of Mass Effect and Diablo would be like if they had hot kinky sex and joined for all eternity.

It looks kinda... meh.  It's a souped up Diablo with a hybrid mecha-mythos plot.

Different, but not necessarily original.

Out of curiosity, have any of you guys done any dual-monitor gaming?  I bought a second monitor a few weeks ago and have been thinking about picking up Supreme Commander to try out the dual-monitor options.

Dual monitors are awesome for multitasking.  Watching a movie and surfing the web is geek to the extreme!

Actually, I mostly bought it for school.  Even with a 22" monitor, it's a huge pain in the butt to switch between a window for the classroom, a window for the live seminar, a window for Google, and whatever Office app I'm currently using.

...

...

...

Okay, actually I just want to run a game on one monitor and half-heartedly pay attention to the seminar on the other monitor.

I have dual 19" widescreens at work and I refuse to use a single monitor for work now.  SSMSE on the right monitor, VS 2008 on the left monitor.  Once you do dual monitor.... you never go back.

Even after having it for a short time, I'm already wondering what I ever did without it.

It took awhile to get the colors and brightness/contrast on both monitors to look right, but I'm fairly satisfied with it now.  The only problem I'm having is that neither monitor has a height adjustment, and the second monitor is about 3/4" shorter than the first.  I'm going to have to correct that with the judicious use of a stack of paper.

Yet another trailer, this time for a game called MAG (Massive Action Game) for the PS3.  I hate playing FPS games on consoles, but I have to admit this one looks pretty sexy.

The core component of the game is the large scale, with up to 256 players on a single map.  With 128 players on each side, you can have some pretty interesting squad and brigade-level interaction.  I haven't seen a game attempt anything like that since Tribes 2 hit 64-players back in ~2000 or so.

And EQ instances supported 512 players a year before wow went to beta...it is still cool to see in a FPS.

I would buy that game...if I didn't have to buy a PS3 to go with it.
